Mango Mania
Jun 28, 2025
From: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Learn about mango cultivation, taste a wide variety of local fruit and hear from one of Florida’s foremost tropical fruit experts at this all-day educational event. Mango Mania takes place on Saturday, June 28 at the UF/IFAS Extension Miami-Dade County, and features a final presentation by Dr. Jonathan Crane, a leading figure in South Florida’s tropical fruit research who will retire at the end of this year.
Presented by the Tropical Fruit & Vegetable Society of the Redland in partnership with Fruit & Spice Park, the program begins with a 90-minute talk by Dr. Crane covering mango cultivation and tropical fruit production, followed by a Q&A session. Participants will then enjoy an extensive mango tasting, featuring multiple varieties grown locally, with insights and commentary from Dr. Crane. Each attendee receives a reusable bag to take home a curated selection of mangos—roughly 12–14 small or 8–10 medium-sized fruits, depending on availability.
Admission includes a light breakfast with fresh mango samples and a day pass to Fruit & Spice Park, accessible with your event name tag. Registration is $60 online and $75 at the door, pending availability. Space is limited to 75 participants, and all proceeds benefit ongoing projects at Fruit & Spice Park.
