Meditation, mindful movement and quiet observation bring a slower pace to a day among the trees at Patch of Heaven Sanctuary. Medita en la Naturaleza – Invierno takes place Sunday, January 31, 2027, as part of the sanctuary’s seasonal retreat series. Developed by chief experience officer Suzanne Jewell, the series draws on mindfulness and contemplative traditions to explore attention, intention and connection with nature.
The day begins at an intention board, where participants reflect on a sankalpa, a personal aspiration to guide their practice. Meditation cushions, yoga mats, journals and a symbolic Heart Stone are provided as part of the retreat setting. Throughout the day, contemplation and mindful movement offer opportunities to observe the surrounding landscape and connect with fellow participants.
Attendees are encouraged to set aside their phones and daily distractions for the retreat at the sanctuary in South Miami-Dade.
