Miami Beach OnStage!: Juneteenth Day of Freedom
Jun 19, 2025
From: 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM
A vibrant procession, live drumline and contemporary dance performance set the tone for an evening commemorating the cultural legacy and resilience of the African diaspora. Presented by the City of Miami Beach and the Lincoln Road Business Improvement District, this Juneteenth program invites audiences to experience music, movement and storytelling in the heart of South Beach.
Miami Beach OnStage!: Juneteenth Day of Freedom begins Thursday, June 19 at 5:30 p.m. at Euclid Oval with a street-side performance by Miami’z Finest followed by the dynamic ROAR Drumline from Florida Memorial University. The celebration continues with a procession along Lincoln Road, culminating at 1100 Lincoln Road with Journey of Divine Souls, a performance by the Peter London Global Dance Company. This piece explores traditional and contemporary forms rooted in the African diaspora, emphasizing cultural endurance and transformation through rhythm and movement.
Immediately following the outdoor program, attendees are invited to the Colony Theatre at 7:30 p.m. for the fifth annual Juneteenth Experience, a multidisciplinary concert theater performance centered on the theme of non-erasure and the contributions of Black South Florida communities.
All events are free and open to the public.
