Dec 05, 2026
Starting: 11:00 AM
Short-form filmmaking, digital media and emerging technology converge at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science during the inaugural ARTWEEK Miami Media Festival. Presented Saturday, December 5 as part of Miami Art Week, the program brings filmmakers, artists, animators, photographers and digital creators together for presentations, panel discussions, selected film excerpts and awards recognizing work across traditional and experimental media.
Hosted in the Frost Planetarium, the event includes Session Two of the Miami Art Week Panel Discussion Series, with conversations exploring developments in film, visual art, technology and artificial intelligence. Selected highlights from the festival’s short and micro-short film competition will be presented alongside recognition for the Miami Media Festival and photoMIAMI photography competitions.
The festival accepts narrative, documentary, animation, experimental, performance and technology-driven work, including projects created with generative AI. Awards recognize short films, micro-shorts, creative innovation, AI-assisted work and audience favorites, reflecting the festival’s focus on evolving approaches to visual storytelling.
