MIGF 2027 GuitART Festival: Alena & Josep Duo
Jan 31, 2027
From: 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Cello and guitar span Baroque, Romantic and 20th-century repertoire in the closing concert of the 2027 Miami International GuitART Festival. Held Sunday, January 31 at FIU’s Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center, the performance features Belarusian cellist Alena Tikhmanovich and Spanish guitarist Josep Manzano as the Alena & Josep Duo.
The program ranges from works by Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Pachelbel and Johann Sebastian Bach to music by Friedrich Burgmüller, Josep Ferrer, Miguel Llobet, Enrique Granados and Astor Piazzolla. The pairing highlights the contrasting textures of cello and classical guitar across several periods and traditions.
The concert concludes the annual Miami International GuitART Festival, which runs January 22–31 with daily concerts, master classes, lectures and a Luthiers Expo. A festival pass is available for access to events throughout the 10-day program.
