Mikailo Kasha performs Friday, January 30 as part of the Live on the Plaza series. Recognized by Count Basie Orchestra director Scotty Barnhart as among the “top 1% of bassists worldwide,” Kasha is a three-time DownBeat award winner whose credits include appearances at San Jose Jazz Summerfest, the Rochester Jazz Festival and the Stanford Jazz Festival. Leading his modern jazz quartet, he showcases a cinematic approach to the upright and electric bass through a suite of original works. Tickets go on public sale September 19.
