MOAD Stories with Cristina Lei Rodriguez
Dec 13, 2025
From: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Memory, objects, and personal history come together in an interactive afternoon led by visual artist Cristina Lei Rodriguez as part of MOAD’s ongoing Stories series at the Freedom Tower.
Taking place Saturday, December 13, the workshop invites participants into a guided exploration of storytelling and belonging through hands-on artmaking. Working in the Knight Skylight Gallery, Rodriguez leads guests in creating personal shrines that reflect the objects, memories, and materials that shape one’s sense of home, alongside group conversation and reflection. Admission to the Freedom Tower’s exhibitions and galleries is included with each ticket.
Rodriguez’s expansive practice spans installation, photography, sculpture, public art, and painting, often rooted in the cultural landscapes of the American tropics. Her work examines accumulation, transformation, and materiality through layered compositions that merge industrial and organic elements. Over the past two decades, her work has been exhibited internationally at institutions including the Serpentine Gallery, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Pérez Art Museum Miami, and The Bass, and is held in major museum collections worldwide.
Free parking is available in the MDC garage at 500 NE Second Avenue.
