Mar 14, 2026
English tour: Noon | Spanish tour: 2:00 PM
A guided museum talk offers a focused look at migration, memory and the lived experiences behind one of Miami’s most significant historic landmarks.
MOAD Talks with Gisselle Mestre Delgado takes place Saturday, March 14 at the Freedom Tower, with an English-language tour at noon and a Spanish-language tour at 2 p.m. Led by MOAD Research Assistant Gisselle Mestre Delgado, the one-hour tour provides in-depth insight into the Cuban exile experience and highlights key interactive elements of Languages of Migration, currently on view in the Kislak Center.
Drawing on her work for the Freedom Tower centennial project, Delgado shares research informed by more than 200 oral history interviews documenting Cuban exile narratives and other diasporic communities in Miami. The tour also explores how photographs, documents and personal memorabilia preserved in the Freedom Tower Archive help shape a broader understanding of migration, identity and cultural memory.
Admission to the tour is included with a Freedom Tower ticket. Free parking is available in the Miami Dade College garage at 500 NE Second Avenue, between NE Fifth and NE Sixth Streets.
