Modern Magic: A Century of Quartet Masterworks by Black Women

String quartet works by Jessie Montgomery, Florence Price, Tania León and Eleanor Alberga trace a century of music by women across the Black diaspora. The Deering Quartet performs Modern Magic on Friday, November 13 at Sandrell Rivers Theater in Liberty City.

Presented in partnership with Fantasy Theatre Factory, the approximately 90-minute concert pairs seldom-performed twentieth-century works with selections from the contemporary quartet repertoire, highlighting four distinct compositional voices.

Tickets are $30 for general admission, $25 for seniors ages 55 and older and $20 for students, plus applicable fees. Valid identification is required for senior and student tickets. A limited number of Golden Tickets are available by reservation through the box office at 305-284-8872.
