Mother's Day at Deering Estate

A full day of outdoor activities, tours and optional bay cruises offers multiple ways to mark the holiday at Deering Estate. Taking place Sunday, May 10, the annual Mother’s Day program invites visitors to explore the historic grounds and waterfront setting along Biscayne Bay.

Mother’s Day Brunch (Bring Your Own Picnic): Guests can enjoy a self-guided picnic from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with open lawn space beneath Royal Palm trees and views of the bay. Admission includes access to the estate grounds, along with a guided house tour at 11:30 a.m. and a nature preserve tour at 12:30 p.m.

Mother’s Day Bay Cruise: A two-hour cruise aboard the Pelican Skipper catamaran departs at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., offering a guided experience on Biscayne Bay. The ADA-accessible vessel includes a complimentary glass of champagne for adult guests, with cruise tickets also covering same-day estate admission.

Conservation Workshop Screening: From 1 to 3 p.m., a free screening presented in partnership with the Miami-Dade Public Library System and Latino Outdoors features a 1974 documentary examining the history and contemporary life of the Seminole and Miccosukee communities in South Florida.
General admission is available throughout the day, with reduced pricing for children and complimentary entry for members and children under age 4. Cruise tickets are sold separately online, and space is limited.
