NWS Artistic Director Laureate Michael Tilson Thomas (MTT) returns to the New World Center stage to conduct several performances during the 2023/2024 season. As part of his season long series, MTT presents a thrilling program of works on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5. He will be joined by acclaimed pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet.
The performance opens with Tchaikovsky's dramatic Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture. Known for his elegant musicality and insightful approach to contemporary and established repertoire, Thibaudet will take on Ravel's virtuoso Concerto. For the grand finale, NWS will perform Shostakovich's 15th and final symphony.
