Nation of Language

From: 7:00 PM to midnight
A synth-driven live set brings new wave urgency and post-punk melancholy to ZeyZey Miami’s open-air stage.
Nation of Language performs on Friday, January 16, at ZeyZey Miami, presenting their sleek, emotionally charged take on new wave, post-punk and shoegaze-inflected pop. Based in New York City, the band has built a fast-growing international following through tightly constructed songs, analog synth textures and a live presence that bridges dancefloor momentum with introspective songwriting.
Their debut album, Introduction, Presence, established the group’s minimalist, synth-forward aesthetic, followed by A Way Forward, which expanded their audience and led to national television appearances and sold-out tours. The 2023 release Strange Disciple further cemented their status, earning widespread critical recognition and topping Rough Trade’s Album of the Year list. In recent years, Nation of Language has become a fixture on major festival stages, including Primavera Sound, Pitchfork Festival, Desert Daze and Austin City Limits.
Doors open at 7 p.m., with additional performers to be announced. Happy hour drink specials run from 7 to 8 p.m. This event is open to ages 18 and up. On-site dining is provided by Tacos María, serving grass-fed, seed-oil-free tacos with a sustainability-minded approach.
