Garba, raas and dandiya dancing bring the traditions of Navaratri to FunDimension in Wynwood for an evening of music, performance and community celebration. Navaratri, the nine-night Hindu festival honoring the divine feminine, is celebrated with music, community gatherings and traditions that include the Gujarati dances garba and dandiya raas. Taking place Saturday, October 17, the festival is hosted by Niraj Mehta, Nara Bollywood and a special guest, with programming designed for both experienced dancers and newcomers.
The event features live music, dance performances and classes centered on traditional group dances associated with Navaratri. Attendees can take part in garba, raas and dandiya throughout the evening, with dance groups also welcome to participate.
An Indian food village and market round out the festival with food and shopping alongside the cultural programming. Children ages 12 and younger receive free admission, and discounted rates are available for groups.
