New Voices: Frost Jazz Orchestra

Original big-band writing by Frost students takes center stage in a concert performed by the Grammy-nominated Frost Jazz Orchestra at Gusman Concert Hall. New Voices takes place Tuesday, February 16 as part of the Frost School of Music’s 2026-2027 season, featuring works by composers from the Studio Jazz Writing Program. John Daversa and Steven Guerra Jr. direct the program.

The concert highlights emerging arrangers and composers whose music is developed within Frost’s jazz writing curriculum, giving student work a full-scale ensemble setting. Performed by the Frost Jazz Orchestra, the pieces showcase a range of individual styles, orchestral approaches and contemporary big-band writing.
