Noel: An Old World Christmas

A cappella carols, ancient chant and European seasonal music come together in Seraphic Fire’s annual holiday program. Noel: An Old World Christmas takes place Saturday, December 12, at Palmer Trinity in Palmetto Bay. Conducted by James K. Bass, the concert features the Grammy-nominated vocal ensemble in a program rooted in sacred and folk traditions from across Europe.

The repertoire includes familiar carols such as O Come, O Come Emmanuel and Adeste Fideles, alongside seasonal music from France, Germany, Spain, Italy and England. Spanning the Medieval and Renaissance periods through contemporary holiday selections, the program highlights chant, polyphony and close ensemble singing.

Founded in South Florida in 2002, Seraphic Fire is a professional vocal ensemble with a national touring and recording history. The group has released 16 full-length albums, including Grammy-nominated recordings of A Seraphic Fire Christmas and Brahms: Ein Deutsches Requiem, and continues to support vocal music education through youth, collegiate and professional training initiatives.
