Othello Molineaux
Jan 17, 2027
From: 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Steel pan melodies and jazz improvisation come together in an outdoor performance by Othello Molineaux. The Trinidad and Tobago-born musician performs Sunday afternoon, January 17, 2027, on the Power Access Main Stage on the 1100 block of Lincoln Road in Miami Beach. Presented by Power Access, the concert is part of the South Beach Jazz Festival’s Sunday lineup.
Molineaux helped expand the steel pan’s role in jazz, developing a career that includes a longstanding collaboration with bassist Jaco Pastorius and performances with Herbie Hancock and Dizzy Gillespie. His recording Ivory and Steel with pianist Monty Alexander further explored the instrument’s possibilities in a jazz ensemble, while his solo album It’s About Time placed his own musical voice at the center.
Admission is free with an RSVP. Additional festival performances take place along Lincoln Road throughout the day.
