Panel Discussion with Edouard Duval Carrié and Yanira Collado
Apr 29, 2026
From: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
A panel discussion at Oolite Arts on Miami Beach brings together artists Edouard Duval-Carrié and Yanira Collado to examine Caribbean histories and contemporary artistic practice. Taking place Wednesday, April 29, the conversation explores shared themes shaped by place, identity and experience.
Moderated by curator Lauryn Lawrence, the discussion considers how both artists engage with colonial histories, cultural memory and representation through what Duval-Carrié has described as a “Global Caribbean” perspective. The program also reflects on their experiences as Oolite Arts alumni, tracing how early research and development at the institution informed their evolving practices.
Free and open to the public, the event offers an opportunity to hear directly from the artists about the intersections in their work and the broader cultural narratives that shape it.
