Panel Discussion with Edouard Duval Carrié and Yanira Collado
Apr 29, 2026
From: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
A conversation between two artists examines Caribbean histories and contemporary artistic practice through a shared lens shaped by place and experience. Taking place Wednesday, April 29, the panel brings together Edouard Duval-Carrié and Yanira Collado at Oolite Arts on Miami Beach.
Moderated by curator Lauryn Lawrence, the discussion explores how both artists engage with themes of colonial history, cultural memory and identity through what Duval-Carrié has described as a “Global Caribbean” perspective. The program also reflects on their time as Oolite Arts alumni, considering how early research and development at the institution informed their evolving practices.
Free and open to the public, the event offers an opportunity to hear directly from the artists about the intersections in their work and the broader cultural narratives that shape it.
