Piano Masters & New Voices at The Betsy

Emerging jazz pianists share the spotlight with established Miami artists in a weekly live music series at The Betsy in South Beach. The Tuesday program takes place July 7 from 6 to 11 p.m., with Prof. Tal Cohen performing from 6 to 9 p.m. and student pianists featured from 9 to 11 p.m. Curated by Cohen and Prof. Martin Bejerano, the series is designed to connect advanced jazz students with professional performance opportunities.

Piano Masters & New Voices is part of The Betsy’s long-running live jazz programming, presented without a cover charge or minimum. The July 7 lineup includes Dan Pappas, Ben Richter, Charlee Loyst and Ciel Yasukawa, highlighting new voices from Miami’s jazz education community.

Cohen is a Grammy Award-winning jazz pianist whose credits include performances with Terence Blanchard, Joe Lovano, Greg Osby and Ignacio Berroa. Bejerano, an associate professor and head of the Jazz Piano Program at the Frost School of Music, is known for his work as a pianist, composer and educator, including performances with drummer Roy Haynes’ Fountain of Youth band.
