Piano Masters & New Voices at The Betsy

Jazz pianist Tal Cohen opens Tuesday evenings at The Betsy, followed by solo performances from emerging student pianists. Piano Masters & New Voices runs Tuesdays, November 3–24, in the hotel’s Piano Bar in Miami Beach. Curated by Cohen and pianist Martin Bejerano, the initiative gives advanced undergraduate and graduate jazz pianists opportunities to perform publicly and learn from established musicians.

Cohen, a recipient of Australia’s Freedman Fellowship, has performed with artists including Terence Blanchard and Joe Lovano. Bejerano heads the jazz piano program at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music and is known for his longstanding association with drummer Roy Haynes.

Each evening features two performance sessions:

• 6–9 p.m.: Tal Cohen
• 9–11 p.m.: Featured student pianist

There is no cover charge or minimum spend. Guests can listen over drinks in the lobby or reserve a dinner table at LT Steak & Seafood.
