Plastic is Scary: Costumes, Cleanup & Kombucha
Sep 13, 2025
From: 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM
A beach cleanup with a festive twist invites families to swap costumes, share a meal and enjoy live music while tackling plastic waste.
Plastic is Scary: Costumes, Cleanup & Kombucha takes place Saturday, September 13 at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park, presented by Debris Free Oceans. The afternoon begins with a coastal cleanup, followed by a costume exchange that gives gently-used outfits new life ahead of Halloween. Participants can refresh with Radiate Kombucha, enjoy dinner from Nu Real Food and take home an Earth Breeze T-shirt provided for volunteers.
The free, family-friendly event runs from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the park’s Chickee Village, with parking included for participants. All ages are welcome to take part in this community gathering that celebrates sustainability, creativity and Miami’s historic shoreline.
