Public Art Tour: Miami Design District

Discover the art and architecture that define the Miami Design District on a guided walking tour through Palm Court Plaza and beyond. The tour highlights the neighborhood’s history while showcasing landmark works such as Buckminster Fuller’s Fly’s Eye Dome, Virgil Abloh’s Dollar a Gallon, Criola’s Interdimensional Portal and other site-specific installations and murals.
Scheduled for February 21, March 8, March 21 and March 28 from 11 a.m. to noon, the free tour offers an overview of the District’s public art program and architectural vision.
The March 8 installment recognizes International Women’s Day with a special edition focusing on Katie Stout’s Design Commission, Gargantua’s Thumb. This hour-long tour will be led by Miami gallerist Nina Johnson, founder of her namesake gallery and a longtime advocate for contemporary artists. The tour begins in Palm Court.
All other listed dates follow the standard public art tour format. Admission is free; advance registration is recommended.
