Red Bull Flugtag Returns to Miami This Halloween

Get ready for one of the wildest spectacles on the water. Red Bull Flugtag lands in Miami for the first time in more than a decade on Saturday, October 31, at Bayfront Park, right in the heart of downtown Miami's waterfront.

Thirty teams of everyday people will take on the challenge of designing and building their own homemade, human-powered flying machines, then launching them off a 30-foot flight deck into Biscayne Bay in front of thousands of cheering spectators. No motors, no engines, just human power and pure creativity. A panel of local and national celebrity judges will crown a winner based on craft design, showmanship, and flight distance, with elaborate pre-flight skits and Halloween costumes adding to the spectacle.

Since debuting in Vienna in 1992, Flugtag has become a global phenomenon staged in more than 100 cities worldwide, from San Francisco to New York City to Tampa Bay. The current world record for flight distance is 258 feet, set in Long Beach, California, in 2013. Will Miami break it?
