Revelations in Rhythm
May 16, 2026
From: 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
A live dance and music performance tracing the roots of African rhythm in American tap takes the stage at the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center. Blending movement, music and storytelling, the program highlights tap’s cultural lineage and ongoing evolution.
Taking place Saturday, May 16, the annual Revelations in Rhythm is presented by the Winds of Heritage Dance Company in honor of National Tap Dance Day. Created, directed and choreographed by Broadway tap artist Marshall Davis Jr., the production incorporates tap, gospel and jazz alongside live musicians, vocalists and dancers.
Each edition of the performance pays tribute to influential figures such as Bill “Bojangles” Robinson and Steve Condos, connecting historical legacy with contemporary expression.
