Rock Symphonic 2026
Mar 17, 2026
Starting: 7:30 PM
A student-produced concert merges amplified sound and orchestral color in a large-scale collaboration at the Frost School of Music.
Rock Symphonic 2026 takes place Tuesday, March 17 at the University of Miami’s Gusman Concert Hall. Presented free to the public, the annual event features five selected bands and artists performing original music arranged for and backed by the Rock Symphonic Orchestra.
The Rock Symphonic Orchestra is a Frost School ensemble dedicated to bridging contemporary popular music and classical instrumentation. Bringing together rhythm section, vocalists and full orchestral forces, the group reimagines rock, pop and alternative styles through expansive symphonic arrangements created by student composers and arrangers. The result is a genre-blurring performance that highlights collaboration across departments and musical disciplines.
In addition to the indoor concert, a live Windowcast will be presented simultaneously at 7:30 p.m. on the Knight Center for Music Innovation Outdoor Plaza, offering an open-air viewing option.
Part of Frost’s ongoing commitment to innovation and cross-genre performance, the evening showcases emerging artists in a dynamic fusion of contemporary and classical sound.
