Ryosuke Kiyasu

A pioneering figure in experimental percussion headlines a high-intensity underground noise and avant-rock showcase in North Miami Beach.

Ryosuke Kiyasu takes place on Monday, February 16 at Original Sin Tavern, presented by Spark Booking and Alternative MIA. Kiyasu is a Tokyo-based snare drum soloist and avant-percussionist whose unconventional approach to rhythm has drawn international attention; his solo work and performances with groups such as SETE STAR SEPT, Kiyasu Orchestra and contributes to Keiji Haino’s influential experimental rock band Fushitsusha reflect a long career in extreme, boundary-pushing music. A 2018 Berlin performance of his snare-solo work went viral online, and he continues to tour widely with his percussive explorations.

The lineup also features a strong bill of support acts drawn from the noise, grind and experimental spectrum, including Laundry Room Sqelchers, N.I.H.L., HUMANFLUIDROT, diqbeats, Nuclear II and Oxiderr — each bringing intense, uncompromising live sets that reflect the city’s vibrant underground music scene. Set in one of Miami’s favorite DIY venues, the show offers a rare noise-centric night of free expression and sonic extremity.
