Latin jazz classics and percussion fill the Faena Theater as Grammy-nominated percussionist Sammy Figueroa honors the centennial of Cal Tjader, the legendary vibraphonist and bandleader. The Sammy Figueroa performance on Wednesday, August 20. features an all-star ensemble including Latin Grammy winner Felipe Fournier on vibraphone, pianist Tal Cohen, bassist Agustin Conti and drummer Reinier Guerra. Blending live music with archival footage, the program revisits Tjader’s signature sound through pieces such as Soul Sauce and Mambo Mindoro, offering a rich tribute to one of Latin jazz’s most influential figures.
