Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol gets a South Florida makeover in a family-friendly holiday production at Sandrell Rivers Theater. Presented Saturday, December 19 and Sunday, December 20 by Fantasy Theatre Factory, Scrooge! A Fractured Christmas Carol mixes the 1840s setting of Dickens’ story with contemporary references, local humor, puppetry and music.
Artistic Director Larry Fields stars as Scrooge in a production that combines comedy, colorful characters, sets and costumes with the familiar story of transformation and generosity. The adaptation also incorporates references to Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa, broadening its holiday setting while keeping the focus on community and togetherness.
Tickets are $7 plus applicable fees. The production is suitable for families.
