Slàinte mhat: Frost Symphonic Winds
Feb 07, 2027
Starting: 4:00 PM
Scottish and Gaelic musical traditions shape an afternoon of wind band repertoire performed by the Frost Symphonic Winds at Gusman Concert Hall. The concert takes place Sunday, February 7 as part of the Frost School of Music’s 2026-2027 season, with Craig McKenzie conducting. The program features works by composers including Malcolm Arnold, Thea Musgrave, Percy Grainger and Johan de Meij, each drawing on folk material, regional character or musical imagery associated with Scotland and the broader Celtic world.
The concert highlights how traditional melodies and cultural references have been adapted for the modern wind ensemble, moving between lyrical passages, dance rhythms and large-scale symphonic writing.
Admission is free.
