Jack Skellington trades Halloween scares for holiday cheer in an outdoor screening of The Nightmare Before Christmas at SoundScape Park in Miami Beach. The Wednesday, December 9 presentation is part of the 17th season of the free SoundScape Cinema Series, which projects films onto the 7,000-square-foot wall of the New World Center.
Directed by Henry Selick, the 1993 stop-motion fantasy follows the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town after he discovers Christmas and decides to put his own eerie spin on the holiday. His attempt to take over Santa’s role quickly spirals into trouble for both worlds.
The PG-rated film is presented outdoors, rain or shine. Attendees may bring blankets and picnic baskets for the screening.
