Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton play estranged brothers drawn toward the same mixed-martial-arts tournament in an outdoor screening of Warrior at SoundScape Park in Miami Beach. The Wednesday, January 20 presentation is part of the 17th season of the free SoundScape Cinema Series, which projects films onto the 7,000-square-foot wall of the New World Center.
Directed by Gavin O’Connor, the 2011 drama follows former Marine Tommy Conlon and his older brother Brendan, a public-school teacher struggling to support his family, as both enter a high-stakes MMA competition. Their separate paths through the tournament gradually force them to confront a troubled family history and the resentment that has kept them apart.
The PG-13 film is presented outdoors, rain or shine. Attendees may bring blankets and picnic baskets for the screening.
