Summer with the Symphony: Sweet Serenade

A string trio and piano quartet close the chamber series with music shaped by lyrical writing, warm textures and expressive interplay among the instruments. Summer with the Symphony: Sweet Serenade takes place Thursday, July 23 at Sanctuary of the Arts in Coral Gables.

Presented by South Florida Symphony Orchestra, the program pairs Ernő Dohnányi’s Serenade with Antonín Dvořák’s Piano Quartet, Op. 87. The performance features Huifang Chen on violin, Brandon Wu on viola, Claudio Jaffe on cello and Catherine Lan on piano.

The concert is part of the orchestra’s Summer with the Symphony chamber music series, which presents intimate summer performances in South Florida. A post-concert meet and greet with the musicians follows the performance.
