Sunrise Photography

Capture the beauty of daybreak over Biscayne Bay during Sunrise Photography at Deering Estate, a special early-morning experience that gives photographers access to the Estate’s scenic waterfront during sunrise. Bring your camera and tripod to photograph colorful skies, reflections over the bay and the surrounding natural landscape as the sun rises over one of Miami’s most picturesque historic properties. The program is open to ages 15 and older, and both amateur and experienced photographers are welcome. Participants should bring water and bug spray and come prepared for mosquitoes and other insects, which are common throughout the year. Long-sleeve shirts, long pants and mosquito spray or lotion are recommended. Guests should meet at the Main Gate at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. The program begins promptly, and late arrivals are considered no-shows and will not be permitted to enter or participate. Late arrivals are not eligible for refunds, transfers or credits. Sunrise Photography dates for 2026 September 20 from 6 to 8 a.m. for the Equinox; and December 20 from 6 to 8 a.m. for the Solstice. Tickets are $25 per person, and space is limited. Admission also includes general admission to Deering Estate from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the same day as the photography program. Deering Estate is a historic waterfront landmark and nature preserve located at 16701 SW 72nd Avenue in Palmetto Bay, Florida. Overlooking Biscayne Bay, the nearly 450-acre property combines historic architecture, archaeological sites and protected South Florida ecosystems with arts, cultural and educational programming.
