Swingin' for the Holidays

Holiday standards get a big-band treatment in an end-of-semester concert featuring arrangements by Frost School of Music students. Swingin’ for the Holidays takes place Monday, November 30 at Gusman Concert Hall as part of Frost’s 2026-2027 season, with Steve Guerra directing. The program showcases seasonal favorites reworked by members of the Studio Jazz Writing Program, pairing familiar melodies with the ensemble colors and rhythmic language of contemporary jazz.

The concert highlights the program’s emphasis on arranging and orchestration, giving student writers the opportunity to hear their work performed live by fellow Frost musicians.
