Symbiotic House: Malcolm Lauredo
Apr 30, 2026
Starting: 6:30 PM
Malcolm Lauredo, founder of The Greater Miami Bureau of Time Tourism, shares research on Miami’s local history and community archives during a lecture at The Kampong in Coconut Grove. The program is part of the ongoing Symbiotic House series highlighting interdisciplinary practices connected to place and public engagement.
Taking place Thursday, April 30, the talk explores Lauredo’s Knight Foundation-funded independent history practice, which works to expand public access to Miami’s past. Through oral histories, family album digitization initiatives, public programming and a Miami History Hotline, his work emphasizes community-driven interpretation and preservation.
Lauredo previously served as founding director of the historic research department at Coral Gables Museum and has worked as an exhibition designer for the Seminole Tribe of Florida. His background also includes archival research, fellowships and consulting roles with local cultural and environmental institutions.
Organized by Miami-based artist Lee Pivnik, the Symbiotic House lecture series convenes artists, designers and researchers whose work intersects with architecture, ecology and civic life.
