Symbiotic House: Malcolm Lauredo
Apr 30, 2026
Starting: 6:30 PM
A Miami-based historian and curator presents research on local history and community archives as part of an ongoing lecture series at The Kampong in Coconut Grove. Symbiotic House: Malcolm Lauredo takes place Thursday, April 30.
This fourth installment of the 2026 Symbiotic House lecture series features Malcolm Lauredo, founder of The Greater Miami Bureau of Time Tourism, a Knight Foundation-funded independent history practice dedicated to expanding public access to Miami’s past. Through oral histories, family album digitization, public programming and a Miami History Hotline, Lauredo’s work centers on community-driven historical interpretation and preservation.
Lauredo has served as founding director of the historic research department at Coral Gables Museum and has worked as an exhibition designer for the Seminole Tribe of Florida. His experience also includes research fellowships, archival work and consulting roles with local cultural and environmental institutions.
Organized by Miami-based artist Lee Pivnik, the Symbiotic House lecture series convenes artists, designers and researchers whose practices intersect with architecture, ecology and public engagement.
