Tech Lab Club: 3D Modeling & Printing
Mar 08, 2026 - Apr 12, 2026
monthly on the 2nd Sunday
From: 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM
A hands-on, semester-long program introduces young learners to the fundamentals of 3D modeling and printing at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science.
Designed for children ages 6 to 11, Tech Lab Club: 3D Modeling & Printing guides participants through the basics of computer-aided design using TinkerCad, while building spatial-reasoning skills and encouraging problem-solving through real-world design challenges. Across three immersive sessions, scheduled on February 8, March 8 and April 12, students explore how digital ideas are transformed into physical objects, learning the principles behind 3D printers and engineering concepts along the way.
The program meets once a month for four-hour drop-off sessions, allowing ample time for experimentation, creativity and guided instruction in Frost Science’s tech-focused learning environment. In addition to in-person sessions, participants receive take-home activities to extend learning between meetings. Tech Lab Club emphasizes exploration, design thinking and collaborative discovery, offering an engaging introduction to emerging technologies in a museum setting.
