The Art for Soul’s Sake

Music, theater, dance and musical theater take center stage in a two-night showcase featuring young artists from the Marshall L. Davis, Sr. African Heritage Cultural Arts Center. Performances take place Wednesday, August 5, and Friday, August 7 at the Shepard & Ruth K. Broad Performing Arts Center at Barry University.

The August 5 program highlights students from the Music and Theater units through vocal, instrumental and dramatic presentations. The August 7 performance shifts the focus to Dance and Musical Theater, combining choreographed movement with acting and song.

Presented as part of the 2026 Summer Arts Conservatory, The Art for Soul’s Sake reflects the training, collaboration and creative development students have pursued throughout the summer.
