The Creative Process – Flamenco Beyond Tradition
Jun 13, 2026
Starting: 7:00 PM
Experience flamenco as an evolving art form shaped in real time through collaboration and experimentation at the Adrienne Arsht Center.
The Creative Process – Flamenco Beyond Tradition is a one-night performance by Siudy Flamenco Company, emerging from an intensive creative residency led by internationally acclaimed artists Siudy Garrido and José Manuel Álvarez. Over the course of a week, dancers from Miami and across Latin America engage in physical research, improvisation and guided composition, developing new choreography that expands on traditional flamenco structures.
The program features newly created works alongside selected repertoire, offering audiences a view into flamenco that emphasizes process as much as performance. Rather than presenting a conventional format, the evening highlights individual movement language, musicality and contemporary interpretation while maintaining the foundational elements of the form.
The Creative Process – Flamenco Beyond Tradition takes place on Saturday, June 13. Ticket buyers who also purchase admission to Captura y Fuga by José Manuel Álvarez may receive a 20 percent discount when both performances are added to the same order.
