The Doo Wop Project: Echoes of the Street
Feb 07, 2027
Two shows: 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM
Classic doo-wop harmonies, Broadway vocals and reimagined pop songs come together in a concert celebrating the sounds of street-corner singing. The Doo Wop Project: Echoes of the Street comes to Aventura Arts & Cultural Center on Sunday, February 7, with performances at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. The show features five Broadway performers backed by a four-piece band of Broadway musicians.
The group’s members have appeared in productions such as Jersey Boys, Beautiful and Motown: The Musical, bringing theatrical polish to music rooted in 1950s and 1960s vocal harmony traditions. The program includes doo-wop classics such as “Whispering Bells,” “So Much in Love” and “Blue Moon,” along with Four Seasons songs including “Sherry” and “Let’s Hang On.”
The concert also extends the style into contemporary material, with “doo-wopified” versions of songs such as Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” and Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey.” The result is a live revue that connects early rock-and-roll vocal traditions with Broadway musicianship and modern arrangements.
