The Glass Menagerie
Through Aug 10, 2025
Fri-Sat: 8:00 PM | Sun: 2:00 PM
Tennessee Williams’ classic memory play is reimagined through a multimedia lens in this intimate staging of a cornerstone of American drama.
The Glass Menagerie will be performed August 8–10 at the Westchester Cultural Arts Center, presented by What If Works in association with Homestead Center for the Arts and Roxy Theatre Group.
This production blends traditional stagecraft with elements of cinema and live musical underscoring, an experimental approach inspired by techniques Williams himself explored early in his career. Set in Depression-era St. Louis, the play follows the fragile Wingfield family as they navigate hope, regret and the weight of memory. Each character draws on the playwright’s personal history, making the work as autobiographical as it is universal.
Williams’ enduring themes of longing, illusion and resilience resonate anew in this contemporary staging.
