Three towering voices of the Romantic piano repertoire come together in a recital by Frost faculty pianist Tian Ying at Gusman Concert Hall. The concert takes place Saturday, January 30 as part of the Frost School of Music’s 2026-2027 season, with works by Sergei Rachmaninoff, Ludwig van Beethoven and Alexander Scriabin. The program is co-presented by the Friends of Chamber Music of Miami.
Ying is an associate professor of keyboard performance at the Frost School of Music, where his work centers on piano performance and teaching. The recital places Beethoven’s structural intensity alongside the lush Romanticism of Rachmaninoff and the increasingly mystical harmonic language of Scriabin, tracing contrasting approaches to the expressive possibilities of the piano.
