Select Days
Two shows: 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM
Live jazz performances inspired by the sounds and spirit of early 20th-century New Orleans take center stage in an intimate setting at Palapa at Upper Buena Vista. Scheduled for Thursday, April 16 and Thursday, August 13, with two evening shows, the experience highlights classic jazz standards alongside improvisational moments. The program draws from the genre’s roots, blending ragtime, brass and blues influences.
Musicians and vocalists perform selections such as “St. James Infirmary,” “When the Saints Go Marching In” and “On the Sunny Side of the Street,” capturing the expressive range and spontaneity that define traditional jazz. Instrumentation including saxophone, trumpet and rhythm section creates a layered, dynamic sound that reflects the genre’s origins in New Orleans.
Set within the open-air Palapa, a thatched structure built using Seminole craftsmanship and surrounded by tropical foliage, the venue contributes to the immersive atmosphere. The one-hour performance is designed for adult audiences, with shared seating and a bar offering drinks available throughout the evening.
