The Jury Experience: The Deadly Boat Ride

Audience members become the jury in an interactive courtroom drama at Miami’s historic Manuel Artime Theater. The Jury Experience - The Deadly Boat Ride: Will Miami Deliver Justice? is presented Saturday, August 22, Sunday, September 27 and Saturday, November 7, with performances at 4:30 and 7 p.m.

The case centers on a fatal speedboat outing involving the son of a powerful politician, an ex-lover and a group of old friends. As testimony unfolds, audience members examine evidence, weigh conflicting accounts and vote at key moments before deciding whether the accused is guilty or not guilty.

The format combines live theater with participatory decision-making, allowing each performance to shift based on audience responses. Attendees should arrive early, as doors close at show time and late entry is not permitted. The production includes themes of domestic violence, emotional manipulation, alcohol use, a distressing emergency services call and moments of intense emotional conflict.

Located in Little Havana, the Manuel Artime Theater is a historic Neoclassical venue originally built as a church and now used for performing arts programming.
