Broadway show tunes take center stage in a recital spanning ballads, anthems and ensemble numbers from across musical theater history. Presented Friday, January 15 at First Miami Presbyterian Church, the free SongFest program is part of Florida Grand Opera’s Studio Artists Recital Series.
FGO Studio Artists will perform selections from well-known Broadway productions, highlighting the vocal storytelling, character-driven writing and range of styles that have shaped the American musical theater repertoire. The Sound of Applause: Broadway’s Greatest Hits offers the company’s emerging artists a chance to step beyond the operatic canon and into songs written for the Broadway stage.
