Third Thursdays: O, Miami Poetry Festival

Poetry moves beyond the page and into public life during an evening at The Bass presented as part of the annual O, Miami Poetry Festival. Taking place Thursday, April 15, the Third Thursdays program connects the Miami Beach museum with O, Miami’s monthlong April festival, which aims to have every person in Miami-Dade County encounter a poem.

O, Miami uses site-specific events, community gatherings and poetry-in-public-spaces projects to reflect the people and places of South Florida. Through its broader Civic Publishing approach, the organization also shares work by local writers in unconventional public settings, extending poetry into everyday civic spaces.

Admission is free with RSVP, with seating and standing room available on a first-come, first-served basis. The event coincides with the City of Miami Beach Culture Crawl, which includes complimentary trolley service among participating arts and cultural destinations.
