An enigmatic princess, a life-or-death riddle and one of opera’s most iconic arias come together in a sweeping production of Puccini’s final masterpiece.
Turandot will be presented by Florida Grand Opera on March 7, 8 and 10 at the Adrienne Arsht Center. With a libretto by Giuseppe Adami and Renato Simoni, this grand opera follows Princess Turandot, who vows only to marry a man who can solve her three riddles—knowing that failure means execution. When Prince Calaf succeeds, a deeper challenge emerges: awakening Turandot’s heart through love rather than conquest.
This visually striking production pays tribute to the work’s 1926 La Scala premiere while embracing cutting-edge stage design and technology. From the thunderous choral moments to the soaring strains of “Nessun dorma,” the music surges with emotional power and scale. Audiences can expect a richly layered experience filled with opulent costumes, dramatic staging and a world brought to life through immersive visual storytelling.
Sung in Italian with projected translations in English and Spanish. Single tickets will be available at a later date; season subscriptions are currently on sale.
