A sharp-edged cabaret leans into the messier side of romance, turning heartbreak, humor and hard-earned perspective into an intimate night of song and storytelling. Built around personal experience rather than Valentine’s clichés, the show blends comedy and music to explore what love looks like once the fantasy cracks.
Created and performed by Teresa Cesario and Bruce Carter, the program unfolds in classic cabaret style, with confessional moments, wit and live vocals sharing the spotlight. The setting amplifies the experience: La Poubelle’s hidden, 50-seat room in North Beach places performers and audience within arm’s reach, reinforcing the immediacy and vulnerability of the material. Doors open early for cocktails and food, with cabaret-style seating assigned the night of the show and tables often shared.
UN-Valentine’s Day Cabaret takes place Friday, February 13 at La Poubelle and is presented by Normandy Arts LLC. The event is 21 and over, with general admission and VIP ticket options available. An additional food and beverage minimum applies, and seating is limited.
