Viernes Culturales Walking Tour with Dr. Paul George

Historian Dr. Paul George leads a free evening walking tour through Little Havana, tracing the neighborhood’s immigrant history, architecture and cultural landmarks along Calle Ocho. Offered on select Fridays from October through May, the tour departs from the historic Tower Theater and forms part of the broader Viernes Culturales arts and culture programming.

George’s walk explores Little Havana’s development as a gateway for successive immigrant communities and its continuing role in Miami’s cultural life. Along the route, participants encounter historic sites, galleries and other neighborhood landmarks while learning about the people and events that shaped the area.

The tour is free, but advance registration is required due to limited capacity. Viernes Culturales also features live music, local artists and artisans, galleries and dining along Southwest Eighth Street.
