What's Up, Earth?: Critters, Connections, and Collaborations

Marine organisms and human health intersect in a discussion exploring how discoveries from the sea can inform medicine, biotechnology and environmental health. Presented Tuesday, January 26 at the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric and Earth Science, Critters, Connections, and Collaborations is part of the school’s recurring What’s Up, Earth? public program series, which examines topics across ocean, atmospheric and Earth science.

The conversation focuses on marine biomedicine and collaborations between Rosenstiel School researchers and health scientists across the University of Miami, including the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Topics include marine-derived compounds, research models, therapies and emerging biotechnologies, along with ways ocean science can contribute to understanding disease and assessing environmental health risks.

The program begins at 6 p.m. and is followed by an in-person reception. An online viewing option is also available through advance webinar registration.
