Jan 15, 2027 - Jan 16, 2027
Daily through Jan 16, 2027
Fri: 7 PM to 9 PM | Sat: 2 PM to 4:30 PM & 7 PM to 9 PM
Dance, cultural storytelling and themes of identity and connection shape this annual showcase by the Winds of Heritage Dance Collective at the Marshall L. Davis, Sr. African Heritage Cultural Arts Center. Transcending To Truth runs Friday, January 15 and Saturday, January 16, with three performances featuring a mix of local and nationally recognized artists and choreography spanning multiple dance styles.
Winds of Heritage is the Center’s pre-professional dance company for young artists ages 7–16, directed by Eulyce Williams Eason. Its training encompasses ballet, modern, jazz and African dance, with performance and mentorship forming a central part of the program.
The 2027 production explores the journey toward truth through movement, with themes of heritage, identity and cultural connection woven through the program. The annual Heritage Dance Collective has previously brought Winds of Heritage together with guest dancers and choreographers from South Florida and beyond, though a detailed roster for this year’s performances has not yet been announced.
