Winter Mix: Into the Magic City

Bold choreography, dynamic musical scores and a deep sense of place come together in this multifaceted winter program at the Adrienne Arsht Center.

Presented as part of Miami City Ballet’s 2025/2026 season, Winter Mix: Into the Magic City runs February 20–22 and features three works that reflect the city’s energy, complexity and artistic spirit. The company premiere of Red Angels opens the program with Ulysses Dove’s striking choreography set to Richard Einhorn’s electric violin score, blending precision and power in an abstract work that demands both athleticism and intensity.

George Balanchine’s The Unanswered Question follows with an atmospheric interpretation of Charles Ives’s haunting score, evoking a sense of mystery and quiet contemplation. The performance concludes with a world premiere by Alexei Ratmansky, honoring Miami City Ballet founder Toby Lerner Ansin through a piece that bridges tradition with forward-looking creativity.
